rapid fire

OK, so we are very bad bloggers. In fact, we did that thing again, and now have too many things to logically put in one post, but alas, we have even less logic, so it is all going to come out in a huge blurb of mis-matched bullet points.*

* Note to Mrs B: At this stage, I should point out that it is I, jay, blogging, so please retrieve the correct imaginary voice from file and tune in now!

And may the rapid-fire commence:

  • I/we have been completely useless at reading and commenting on blogs lately but we (mostly I) resolve to catch up ASAP. We send love to you all, and extra love to Sara, Erin and A.
  • After losing it rather big time over the FSH level fiasco, we have calmed down. We are trying to do all of the healthy things and stuff. We realise all is not lost, far from it.
  • vee cannot have the test redone until CD2 of her next cycle, for which we hold out hope. Because the next cycle is a new cycle, and new is always good, right?
  • Following on the “new is good” theme, we have a kind of plan B, and plan C and plan D.
  • Well, not exactly, but we have considered the possibility that my eggs might come in useful somewhere. But let’s not worry about that one yet, eh?
  • One step at a time.
  • We’ve had shedloads of work to do in the last week or so, which was kind of comforting in a distraction type way, but left us feeling like deflated balloons. Thankfully, that is over for now.
  • We met our new niece – who is very cute, as we thought – which went fine until my mother started obsessing and asking a million questions about doctor’s appointments and baby knitwear; at which point we bid a hasty retreat.
  • vee’s parents have been staying with us. They are going home today which means we no longer have to sleep upside down on the broken spare room bed.
  • To offset all of the above, we have decided to allocate a proportion of the IVF Fund on a well deserved and totally unexpected EMERGENCY HOLIDAY. HOOOOORAY! Yesirree, we are going to France for 10 days in less than 3 weeks time.
  • Yes, less than 3 weeks. Woo!
  • Our destination is a villa with its own pool in the middle of nowhere, which means that vee will have to learn to drive on the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD (i.e. the right) for the first time ever. Scary!
  • The middle of nowhere = peace.
  • Thank God.

So there you have it! That’s our life in rapid-fire. Normal, drawn out and comprehensive blogging will resume shortly.

Cheerio

  2. I’m glad to hear that you seem to be doing much better than when you last posted, and I think the trip to France sounds like a dandy idea – just what the doctor ordered.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for next cycle’s levels to look better!

  3. so glad to hear your voice…. through a blog that is. You sound refreshed and a villa in france sounds so decadent and capable of lending so much more refreshment. I’ll keep you both in my thoughts.

An emergency holiday–in France–seems to be just what the doctor ordered. You deserve this, and I’m so happy that you get to take some time away together. Plus, there’s nothing better than booking an emergency vacation. There’s so little time that you have to wait!

  8. A villa in remote France– why hasn’t Vanessa ever suggested that as a TTC stress-reliever?
