Yes I think so, and yes, for outside. I guess the ones without hoods are actually footed sleepers then?!

HA! Pram suit. I just looked it up. Do they all have hoods? If so, are they meant for outdoors wear?

We do a blanket sleeper and a fleece sleep sack, although the sleep sack has become a problem in the last week or so as he tries to stand up in his crib in the morning. We considered the one with foot openings but didn't see the point if the feet (the part that is most likely to get cold) were out of the sack. It never occurred to me that the blanket sleeper might be enough on it's own, but it seems from the comments you received that it might.

Thanks for this post. It's great to read what everyone else is doing!

JAG was a serious swaddle addict. We had to take her out at around 6 months because she was rolling to her stomach. Now, we have only a fitted sheet and a thin blanket in the crib. We used to have one of those bumpers but took it out because she'd get her feet tangled in it.

Not dumb! Theo busted out of swaddle at around 5 months. We basically just (gasp, I know) tucked a blanket around him when we felt he could lift his head upon his own. Once he started flipping onto his belly on his own there was no worries at all about the blankets. And for the record-theo NEVER stays still in bed. We're constantly re-covering him up and he ends up coverless in the morning anyhow. And during cold New England winters he does wake up with cold hands.

We're actually ordering a giant H@lo sack for him for Christmas in hopes of combatting this problem!

W wears footed pj's- which always end up being giant on him because we need the bigger size to accommodate his height. We have one that has a zipper and I looooooove it as it makes this so fast. And he has two with a trillion snaps that make us both crazy. When it is warmer here (not something that will be an issue once we move!!) he just sleeps in long sleeves and pants. We tried adding socks but then removing the socks became a THING HE HAD TO DO.

I have a granny square blankie in W's crib that he hangs on to during naps. I am not antsy about it because it has all those holes and stuff

I agree with the other, I use a fleece footed sleeper and then a fleece sleep sack on top of that. I am not so much worried about suffocation, but she rotates around her crib like a clock so there is no way she would stay under a blanket.

My kids weren't fans of the swaddle, so they were in footed pajamas and blanket sleepers when sleeping. We'd use the thin receiving blankets to throw on them sometimes for something to cuddle with, as they got a little older.
